Testing
For us to construct your career personality profile, you will be tested on the following:
Cognitive ability : These tests evaluate your ability to organise information and to think logically using words, numbers and abstract concepts.
Career values : Your career values describe what you feel is important to have fulfilled by a career.
Career anchor : Your career anchor is the set of motives, needs and the personal values you would not abandon if forced to make a choice.
Attentional process : These tests tells us how you direct and focus attention.
Personality : Your personality indicates the essence of who you are; your likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses as well as how you interact with other people.
Interests : indicates the tasks and activities that draw and maintain your focus and on which you are willing to spend both time and energy.
What is involved in Performance Testing?
Cognitive ability testing - areas of testing includes verbal, non verbal (including spatial) and numerical. Gives a full picture of the students reasoning abilities and identifies strenghts and weaknesses.
Arithmetic Testing - an overall maths atainment test assessing a wide range of maths skills.
Verbal Reasoning Testing - highlights students abilities to acquire new concepts and information that may not be evident from their usual class work. Assesses verbal ability including the following; testing vocabulary, logical verbal vocabulary, logical verbal reasoning, relationships between words, symbol manipulation using letters and words and words in sentences.
Reading Testing - provides a diagnostic profile for skimming, vocabulary, reading for facts, point of view and inferential comprehension. Gives an overall assessment of reading comprehension.
Spelling Testing - offers guidance on dealing with different types of spelling difficulties.
Dyslexia Screening - identifies children/adults who may be at risk of learning difficulties or may need a referral for additional testing.
